Today, Cory and I took Ella to the fair. It is the 125th year of The State Fair of Texas. We had a blast!
Ella wanted to wear her tiara from Maggie’s princess party.
Hey Big Tex!
We, of course, had to introduce Ella to Fletcher’s Corny Dogs. YUM!
We saw Boris the Big Boar. He was really big!!
After seeing some animals, we went to story time with Mother Goose.
Then, it was off to the dog show.
Ice cream at the state fair is a must!
Is she cute or what?!
We stopped in the Butterfly House and it was amazing! Probably my favorite part of the whole day. Ella’s expression was priceless. Cory and I were so sad that we didn’t have a video on her when she walked in.
Ella loved all the butterflies. They were flying around everywhere. We can’t wait to go back!
Ella melted my heart. She would get down close to the butterflies and talk to them.
Then, the people working there, taught us how to get a butterfly to crawl on our finger.
Ella didn’t like them on her finger, but she did let them climb on her shirt. It’s hard to see in the picture above. Below Ella is holding out her arm and asking the butterfly to climb on. So cute!
Petting a caterpillar. Ella got to see baby caterpillars, and the eggs as well. This is such a great place!
Ella would make a good butterfly rescuer, huh?
We thought we would see if Ella liked any of the kid rides before we left. Yep, she’s tall enough for some! She has never been on a ride like these, so we weren’t sure if she would ride them.
Daddy reminded her that we couldn’t ride with her but would be watching her have a good time.
She loved the four-wheeler ride. She had a big smile on her face every time she went around. She wanted to ride the elephants next, which raised up and down. I wasn’t super excited about her going by herself, so I went along for the ride.
We had so much fun!
The last ride was the motorcycles. Ella loved pushing the button for the horn.
In the next picture, you can see she was starting to get a little concerned. By the end of the ride, she was ready to get off. Not sure what caused her attitude to change about the ride.
What a fabulous day with my two loves!!!
